Registered Nurse Telemetry

Job Summary:

Responsible for providing patient care within the telemetry unit, including Med Surg, Tele, and ED hold patients. Performs assessments, administers medications, and collaborates with the healthcare team to ensure optimal patient outcomes in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities:

• Deliver comprehensive nursing care by assessing patient conditions and documenting findings accurately in Epic.
• Administer medications, IVs, and treatments following facility protocols and safety guidelines.
• Monitor patient vital signs, ECGs, and other clinical parameters, responding promptly to changes.
• Collaborate with physicians, PCTs, and other team members to coordinate patient care plans.
• Assist with procedures such as bladder scans, blood draws from central lines, and glucose monitoring.
• Support patient education and discharge planning to promote recovery and compliance.

Qualifications:

• Hold a valid NY nursing license or proof of application with an applied date.
• Minimum of 1 year of recent nursing experience in Med Surg or Telemetry.
• Current AHA BLS certification; CMSRN certification preferred.
• Demonstrate Epic EMR experience within the past 2 years.
• Ability to work scheduled shifts from Monday to Sunday, including holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas, New Year’s).
• Strong organizational skills and reliable transportation required due to limited public transit.
