Registered Nurse - Med/Surg Telemetry

Plattsburgh, NY
Assignment Duration:
This is a 13-week contract position.
Schedule:
12-hour night shifts with every other weekend requirement. Holidays as scheduled.
Job Description:
The Registered Nurse in Med/Surg Telemetry will be responsible for providing high-quality patient care in a fast-paced environment. The RN will work across multiple units, including Med/Surg Oncology, Med/Surg Orthopedics, and Med/Surg Urology, supporting ED Hold patients as needed.
Responsibilities:
- Provide nursing care for patients in a telemetry setting.
- Perform IV administrations, bladder scans, blood draws, and glucose monitoring.
- Collaborate with healthcare teams to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
- Document nursing assessments and interventions in EPIC.
- Assist with patient education and support throughout their care journey.
Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure:
- Minimum of 1 year clinical experience required.
- 1 year experience in specialty required.
- Current NY RN license required upon submission.
- AHA BLS certification required; CMSRN preferred.
- NIH Stroke Scale certification required prior to starting.
- Previous experience with EPIC within the last 2 years is non-negotiable.
