Prestige Care Center of Plattsmouth is seeking a compassionate and dedicated Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) to join our in-house rehabilitation team. If you are passionate about helping residents improve their communication, cognition, and swallowing abilities, we invite you to become part of our resident-centered team. You'll work alongside experienced healthcare professionals committed to delivering exceptional, evidence-based care in a supportive skilled nursing environment.
Responsibilities- Evaluate residents with speech, language, cognitive, voice, and swallowing disorders.
- Develop individualized treatment plans based on physician orders and resident needs.
- Provide evidence-based speech therapy services that promote communication, cognitive function, and safe swallowing.
- Accurately document evaluations, treatment sessions, progress notes, and discharge summaries in accordance with state, federal, and payer guidelines.
- Collaborate with physicians, nursing staff, therapy colleagues, residents, and families to ensure coordinated care and successful outcomes.
- Educate residents, caregivers, and staff on communication strategies and safe swallowing techniques.
Participate in interdisciplinary care plan meetings and quality improvement initiatives. - Maintain therapy equipment and ensure a safe treatment environment.
- Comply with ASHA standards of practice, state regulations, and facility policies.
- Current, unrestricted Speech-Language Pathologist license in the State of Nebraska.
- Meets all educational and certification requirements for state licensure.
- Current CPR certification (preferred).
- Valid driver's license.
- Knowledge of skilled nursing regulations, documentation requirements, and Medicare guidelines.
- Excellent communication, organizational, and time management skills.
- Experience in skilled nursing or long-term care is preferred but new graduates are encouraged to apply.
