This role is essential in supporting the health, comfort, and overall well-being of the elderly and disabled individuals we serve.

Position Summary

The Dietary Cook is responsible for preparing and cooking meals in accordance with approved menus, therapeutic diet guidelines, and food safety standards. This position plays a key role in ensuring meals are nutritious, appealing, and served in a safe, sanitary environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Prepare and cook meals and snacks according to menus and prescribed diets
  • Ensure proper portioning, food presentation, and meal timing
  • Follow all sanitation, food safety, and infection control procedures
  • Maintain proper food storage and labeling practices
  • Assist with kitchen cleaning duties, including equipment, work areas, and floors
  • Work closely with dietary staff to ensure smooth kitchen operations
  • Follow all facility policies and health regulations
Qualifications
  • Previous cooking experience in healthcare, food service, or institutional settings preferred
  • Knowledge of safe food handling and sanitation practices
  • Ability to follow recipes, menus, and dietary instructions
  • Positive attitude and compassion toward the elderly and disabled
  • Ability to work as part of a team in a fast-paced environment
  • Must be at least 18 years of age
