Substation Operations Maintenance Worker

Responsibilities include assisting substation crews as needed, understanding and performing general maintenance and cleanup of substation facilities and property, and understanding and performing substation inspections and documentation activities that accompany these duties for all substation equipment.

The role also involves understanding and performing equipment oil samples as directed and transporting materials and equipment for substations group as needed. Physical requirements may include working in confined spaces and in elevated work areas such as heights from ladders, structures, scaffolds, buckets and boom trucks. The candidate may work independently or with others, occasionally work long hours during emergency conditions, and be responsible for tools, test equipment, and vehicles.

Requirements include a high school diploma, GED, or proof of equivalent. The candidate must be able to lift and carry up to 50 pounds, work at heights or in confined spaces, work inside electrical substations, and have or be able to obtain a Class A CDL with Tanker endorsement within six (6) months of starting the position. The candidate must also have or be able to obtain company required fixed & swing cab crane certifications within one (1) year of starting the position.

The successful candidate must be able to live or move within a reasonable distance to the reporting work location.
