Recreation League Baseball Scorekeeper - Recreation $10.00 - $16/hour.
Reports to:

Baseball Scorekeepers serve under the direction of and general supervision of the Sports Program Coordinators and the Recreation Director. The programs begin in April and run through the first part of July. Games will be played on Monday - Thursday evenings. League Scorekeeper must have general scorekeeping knowledge, good oral and written communication abilities, and good public relation skills while maintaining games according to rules and regulations.
Applicants must be at least 14 years of age.
- Working under direct supervision of the recreation program coordinators.
- Attending all scheduled games and arrive 15 minutes prior to game time.
- Ability to work well with youth and adults.
- Ensure games are played according to rules and regulations.
- Determine balls, strikes, outs and maintain records of games.
- Work independently, self-motivated and make good decisions.
- Umpire/Scorekeeper assigned league games, report league information to supervisor.
- Assist with coach meetings and any necessary league preparation.
- Assist with all other related duties as assigned.
- Evening hours.
- Setup/take down and clean-up of facilities after each game day.
- Substitute as supervisor for other programs within the recreation department.
- Applicants must be at least 14 years of age.
- Good oral and written communication abilities.
- Good public relation skills and customer service skills.
- Ability to work with all ages of youth and adults.
- Ability to follow basic safety precautions and procedures.
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with staff and the general public.
- Ability to make sound decisions in sometimes stressful environments.
- Moderate physical activity. Ability to lift 15 to 50 pounds.
- Position requires indoor and outdoor work with some exposure to adverse weather conditions, walking, standing, lifting.
- Work Weeknights and/or Saturdays.
