Summary
The Campus Academic Dean is under the direct supervision of the Campus Director. The role is responsible for the day‑to‑day operation of the educational programs through managing and promoting a productive academic environment. This role is responsible for the academic oversight of both program directors and faculty on the campus by supporting the faculty with developing, implementing, and delivering academic outcomes for the campus.
CompensationCompensation: $90,000‑93,000/annually
Essential Duties and Responsibilities- Supervises instruction to ensure the integrity of educational programs on the campus through classroom observations
- Supports academic outcomes such as course completion, student satisfaction, retention leading to career placement
- Coordinates faculty teaching schedules, classroom and lab facilities, and campus activities
- Coordinates faculty recruitment, hiring, and evaluation according to established policies
- Reinforces and helps implement the knowledge and skills gained from NAO, In-service’s, Academic Excellence, PALs and other college wide meetings
- Coordinates/supports and documents new faculty orientation and training
- Reviews assessment data and assists faculty/programs with adjustment of instructional methodologies to improve student learning
- Ensures the classroom is a safe and engaging environment for students and faculty
- Maintains accurate and up‑to‑date standard equipment list and ensures annual calibration is up‑to‑date and documented
- Participates in program reviews, institutional committees and campus meetings as required
- Ensures programs are compliant with college policies, accreditation, and federal/state requirements
- Provides academic counseling, and supports program director and faculty with student outreach
- Acts upon the daily reports which track and monitor attendance, grades, and Satisfactory Academic Progress
- Analyzes institutional reports that track retention, grades, and other outcomes to support continuous improvement and develop plans/actions to address challenges
- Implements and monitors all action plans
- Monitors and documents student GPA term by term and works with students below benchmark
- Participates as assigned in related admissions, education, employment services activities and overall campus events
- Acts as campus Incident Commander and safety committee leader
- Collaborates with the College Dean of Instruction and Student Success and the Student Affairs Manager
- Coordinates and facilitates New Student Orientation, college prep day, and CDV-Go-Live
- Collects, audits, and maintains up‑to‑date faculty files
- Performs other duties as assigned
Supervises Program Directors, Faculty and Academic Administrative Staff. Responsible for the overall direction, coordination, and evaluation of these units. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization’s policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; and addressing complaints and resolving problems.
