Position: Peer Assistance and Review (PAR) Consulting Teacher (In-House Vacancy Only)

Consulting Teacher

CCCOE continuously strives to provide the highest possible quality of education. In order for students to succeed in learning, teachers must succeed in teaching. Therefore the Contra Costa County Office of Education has designed a program to improve the quality of instruction through expanded and improved professional development and peer assistance. Unit members referred to or who volunteer for the program are viewed as valuable professionals who deserve to have the best resources available provided to them in the interest of improving performance to a successful standard.

A Consulting Teacher is a teacher who provides assistance to a Participating Teacher pursuant to the PAR Program. Applicants must complete the attached EDJOIN application and attach the below documents:
Three (3) letters of recommendation:
One (1) letter from a Principal, Program Administrator, or Vice Principal. Two (2) letters from classroom teachers (classroom teacher definition includes Certificated Classroom Teachers, APE Specialists and Speech Therapists) A current professional resume.

Applicants must meet the following criteria in order be considered for the PAR Consulting Teacher position: A credentialed classroom teacher with permanent status with COE and at least three (3) consecutive years of employment with the COE. Substantial recent experience in classroom instruction. Can demonstrate exemplary teaching ability by effective communication skills, subject matter knowledge, and mastery of a range of teaching strategies necessary to meet the needs of pupils in different context.
