Job Summary
Under direction, serves as liaison and resource for County Agencies including but not limited to Children and Family Services (CFS), Probation, and Health, Housing & Homeless Services (H3), school districts, caregivers, and community organizations to provide, facilitate, and improve the educational accomplishments, opportunities, and services offered to children and youth in foster care, group-home settings, experiencing housing insecurity and or justice involved;
and performs related duties as assigned.
Primary responsibilities include facilitating timely school enrollment and educational stability; identifying and helping resolve barriers to school participation; securing and coordinating educational records and enrollment information; supporting educational, postsecondary, and vocational needs, including college-access and financial-aid support; coordinating services, referrals, and tutoring; and communicating with youth, families, schools, and agency partners to address individual student needs.
The position also maintains accurate program records and data, provides technical assistance and training, supports outreach activities, and builds effective partnerships with county and community agencies.
This position requires regular communication and coordination across multiple systems and independent follow-through on time-sensitive matters.
Requirements / QualificationsThis a full-time, 11 month position with a work year of August through June.
REQUIREMENTS:
Candidates for this position must possess the following:
Equivalent to a bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university with major coursework in human development, or a related field and three (3) years of experience in education, social services, or related field.
Licenses and CertificationsValid California driver's license.
