Occupational Therapist – UHC Staffing Occupational Therapist

Location: Pleasant Hill, California

Contract Type: Perm

Shift Type: Monday-Friday, 8:00 AM - 4:30 PM (Day) - 35 hours/week, no weekend rotation

Hours per Week: 35

Candidate Pay Rate: $60 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities
  • Provide compassionate, patient-centered occupational therapy evaluations and treatment plans
  • Implement individualized interventions to improve activities of daily living and functional independence
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to coordinate care and optimize patient outcomes
  • Document progress clearly and timely, ensuring accurate and thorough medical records
  • Educate patients and families on adaptive strategies, home programs, and safety recommendations
  • Contribute to a positive facility culture by mentoring colleagues and sharing best practices
Qualifications
  • Active or eligible for California Occupational Therapy license
  • Graduation from an accredited occupational therapy program
  • Current CPR/BLS certification or willingness to obtain
  • Experience in skilled nursing, post-acute, or rehabilitation settings preferred
  • Strong clinical reasoning, documentation, and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to manage a patient caseload and work collaboratively with a care team
Education
  • Degree in Occupational Therapy from an accredited program (Master's or OTD preferred)
Knowledge & Skills
  • Skilled in OT evaluation, treatment planning, and progress measurement
  • Experience with ADL training, adaptive equipment, and functional mobility strategies
  • Knowledge of behavioral management, fall prevention, and safety assessment
  • Comfortable with clinical documentation and electronic health record systems
  • Strong communication skills for patient, family, and team education
