APEX is seeking a Project Manager to be based in Pleasant Hill, CA.
Our Pleasant Hill Practice is home to a multidisciplinary team of project managers, scientists, geologists, and engineers who collaborate on a wide variety of project types and environmental contaminants. We foster professional growth by offering opportunities to mentor others and learn from some of the industry’s brightest professionals. Your Responsibilities as a Project Manager:
- Serve as technical lead on cumulative project total of $2M to $3M annually.
- Contribute to successful business development of new clients and projects at greater than $500K annually.
- Write and review technical reports and proposals.
- Assist with project management activities.
- Ability to grow an existing bustling practice in one of the following areas: brownfields redevelopment, groundwater/soil characterization and remediation, landfill engineering, or water resources;
- Identifying and developing successful client relationships and new business development opportunities with public and private clients on local, regional or national basis; business development of $400,000 annual revenue
- Mentor and train scientific staff and ensure quality work product.
- Actively develop your own career growth.
What we're looking for:
- BS in Environmental Science or related field
- Minimum 8 years of experience with environmental/remediation services, including technical writing, technical oversight, project management, business development, and staff management.
- Experience with oil & gas, manufacturing industries, utilities, landfills, and chlorinated solvent sites highly desired, Potentially Responsible Parties (PRP) groups, municipalities. (preferred)
- Proven track record in business development and project management experience, a plus.
- Proven track record of mentoring and developing staff. (preferred)
- Strong technical writing skills, the ability to successfully multi-task, safety awareness, and a good record and understanding of safe work practices.
- 40-hour HAZWOPER certification.
- Valid driver's license and personal vehicle are required.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite.
- Experience with Deltek Vision is preferred.
