Woodland Hills Church of Christ is a non-denominational Restoration Movement church located in Pleasant Hill, IA. With a weekly worship attendance of 65 individuals. We are a congregation seeking to grow our influence in our community and around the world. Pleasant Hill is a community of about 11,500 located east of Des Moines, in Central Iowa. We believe that we have been called to love God and to love people by training our church family to be and to make disciples from among our family, friends and acquaintances.

To accomplish this, we will focus our worship, teaching, fellowship and outreach towards motivating, training and placing people in ministries where they will use their gifts to best benefit the kingdom of God.

Preaching and Leading:

• To teach the Word of God well (Matthew 16:18; Hebrews 13:7; 2 Corinthians 3:5-6; 2 Timothy 2:15) and in a way the hearts of the target can understand (know your audience Acts 13:16-20; 14:1; 17:22-23 and stories - Jesus' parables), as well as in the spirit of biblical teaching by trusting in God, thoroughly studying the Scripture with the help of the Holy Spirit, and continually growing (2 Peter 1:3-4;
  
  Titus 2:12-15) in representing the gospel in a way that inspires others to grow and trust God in their own lives. This includes Sunday morning messages as well as other teaching as the growth of the church creates. (1 Timothy 3:2; 4:16; Titus 1:9; Acts 20:28)
• To provide wise counsel for staff, elders, team leaders and members as they grow in their effectiveness in ministry and as personal needs arise. This includes training others to be able to provide wise counsel. (Proverbs

• To use God's giftedness to encourage the body of Christ at WHCC,

Visionary:

• Mentor individuals to lead ministries in working together toward the goal of reaching the younger generations

Staff and Ministry Leadership:

• To recruit and develop leaders to provide an example and encouragement for members to use their giftedness (2 Timothy 3:16-17)
• To encourage and develop the staff and Ministry Team Leads to reach their fullest potential for their part in realizing the mission of the church, this may include:
  • Training their teams as they work to continually and effectively develop the mission of their team and in their ability to share the gospel in a way our target understands.
  • To effectively communicate with staff, elders, team leaders and members in details that are pertinent to their effective ministry. Also, to be responsive to the communication from the same (1 Corinthians 14:33; Philippians 2:3)

• Provide Curriculum Selection for Youth and Lead Youth Group messages.
