Required Certifications/Licenses:
This is for the 25/26 School year. All substitute teachers are required to have a valid teaching credential or a Wisconsin 3-year substitute teacher permit. To qualify for a 3‑year substitute teacher permit, an applicant must have earned a minimum of a Bachelor’s Degree and be hired by a district. Successful completion of the Substitute Training Workshop offered by the District.
It is the responsibility of the substitute to ensure that all credentials are current.
You will be placed daily in an unfilled assignment. At times, there will be longer‑term placements and placement as a support staff member. Job involves instruction, supervision and training of individuals or groups of students with a wide variety of needs in a regular and/or special education setting. Job activities include instruction of students in a variety of education environments including classrooms, learning centers, vocational programs, the community and/or other institutional facilities.
Substitute carries out the absent teacher’s prepared lesson plans.
Note:
During a prolonged absence, the substitute is responsible for performing all essential functions identified in the absent teacher’s job description.
Note:
Duties may require traveling to various buildings throughout the district as scheduled. Substitutes are required to stay for the entire workday.
