Manufacturing Engineer

We are seeking a talented Manufacturing Engineer with a strong background in automotive die casting. The ideal candidate will support daily production operations and play a critical role in new product launches. This position requires troubleshooting capabilities and the ability to manage equipment effectively in collaboration with tool design teams.

Responsibilities

• Support daily production by attending morning meetings to discuss and resolve issues from the previous day.
• Troubleshoot downtime and cycle time issues on the die casting side.
• Assist in new product launches by identifying necessary equipment and writing Statements of Work (SOW) for the required equipment.
• Obtain vendor quotes, negotiate terms, and prepare presentations for corporate approval of capital expenditures.
• Manage equipment and collaborate on tool design to ensure successful new product launches.

Essential Skills

• Experience in high-pressure die casting is a must.
• Proficiency in automotive engineering and lean manufacturing.
• Ability to read CMM layouts and familiarity with 3D modeling for quality document understanding.
• Strong communication skills to effectively convey information to management.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in an engineering function.
• Knowledge of die cast processes and equipment.
• CAD/CAM experience is a plus.
• Understanding of lean manufacturing and ergonomics.
• BS in a manufacturing-related field.
• Proficiency in MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and MS Projects.

Work Environment

The role requires 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday, primarily in an office setting with visits to the production area as needed. The work schedule may change at the department manager's discretion. The position involves standing and walking for extended periods, handling parts over 20 lbs, and working in a typical manufacturing environment with elevated noise and temperature levels. Proximity to moving equipment and exposure to electrical shock and mechanical parts are possible.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Pleasant Prairie, WI.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $48.07 - $62.50/hr.
