Project Engineer
Job Description
The Project Engineer acts as the project champion, responsible for guiding a project from its specification phase to the shipment of initial products. This role involves establishing project plans, coordinating project reviews, and ensuring proper implementation of project elements. The Project Engineer will lead projects by scheduling, planning, forecasting, and resource planning to achieve objectives, providing updates to clients/customers, and overseeing technical, procurement, and compliance activities.
Working collaboratively with a cross-functional project team, the Project Engineer demonstrates excellent project management, organizational, time management, leadership, and decision-making skills to drive projects to a successful conclusion.
Responsibilities
+ Establish project plans and coordinate project reviews.
+ Ensure proper implementation of project elements.
+ Lead projects by scheduling, planning, forecasting, and resource planning.
+ Provide updates to clients/customers.
+ Oversee technical, procurement, and compliance activities.
+ Collaborate with cross-functional project teams.
+ Exercise final planning decision authority based on inputs from team members and engineering management.
Essential Skills
+ Minimum of a bachelor's degree in engineering, related field of study, or equivalent work experience.
+ Minimum 5 years of engineering experience.
+ Minimum 3 years' experience in a project management role, preferably working directly with customers.
+ Experience in New Product Introduction (NPI) and New Product Development (NPD) processes.
+ Proficient using Microsoft Office tools.
+ Working knowledge of project management software, specifically MS Project.
+ Working knowledge of 3D CAD software, with preference for Solid Works.
+ Excellent organizational, time management, leadership, and decision-making skills.
+ Excellent interpersonal communication skills.
+ Excellent problem-solving skills with accountability to drive issues to closure.
+ Ability to read and follow prints, work instructions, and other manufacturing documentation.
Additional
Skills & Qualifications
+ Experience in motor design or manufacturing preferred.
+ Project Management Professional (PMP) certification, Certified Associate in Project Management (CAPM) certification, or other project management certification preferred.
+ Previous experience working in an AS9100 and/or ISO 9001 manufacturing environment is preferable.
Work Environment
The position requires domestic and possibly international travel up to 10 percent. The work environment involves collaboration with cross-functional teams, utilizing technologies such as project management software (MS Project) and 3D CAD software (Solid Works preferred).
Job Type & Location
This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Pleasant Prairie, WI.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $38.46 - $43.27/hr.
