Job SummaryWe are seeking an experienced Engineering & Maintenance Manager to provide strategic leadership and daily oversight of the Engineering and Maintenance departments within a manufacturing facility. This role is responsible for driving engineering initiatives, leading maintenance operations, improving equipment reliability, and implementing continuous improvement strategies that support production, safety, quality, and operational excellence.
The ideal candidate will have a strong engineering background in a manufacturing or heavy industrial environment, proven leadership experience, and the ability to lead both engineering projects and hands-on maintenance operations.
Key Responsibilities- Lead the daily operations of the Engineering and Maintenance departments, including preventive and predictive maintenance programs.
- Develop and implement engineering strategies that support production goals, operational efficiency, and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Drive equipment reliability by reducing downtime, improving maintenance processes, and minimizing costs associated with equipment failures.
- Provide direct leadership to engineers, maintenance supervisors, and technical personnel while ensuring proper staffing, training, and professional development.
- Maintain a hands‑on leadership approach by supporting equipment troubleshooting and repair efforts when necessary.
- Lead process improvement initiatives and the implementation of new manufacturing processes and equipment.
- Evaluate engineering and maintenance performance through KPIs and drive continuous improvements across department operations.
- Identify innovative engineering solutions that improve productivity, quality, safety, and overall manufacturing performance.
- Ensure compliance with all company safety, quality, and operational standards.
Required
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering.
- Minimum of 7 years of engineering experience within a manufacturing or heavy industrial environment.
- Strong leadership experience managing engineering and maintenance teams.
- Experience implementing preventive and predictive maintenance programs.
- Demonstrated success leading continuous improvement and manufacturing process optimization initiatives.
- Willingness to support multiple shifts as needed and maintain a hands‑on presence within the operation.
Preferred
- Previous management experience leading engineers, maintenance supervisors, and technical staff.
- Experience developing engineering strategies aligned with business objectives.
- Strong background in equipment reliability, root cause analysis, and process improvement methodologies.
- Directly manages 2–5 team members, including engineering and maintenance leadership.
