Job Requirements

Principal Duties and Responsibilities:

Manage a portfolio of classified, nonperforming, or high-risk commercial, agricultural, and consumer loans.

Conduct comprehensive credit reviews, collateral evaluations, and risk assessments on assigned credits, providing recommendations and solutions to the Chief Credit Officer.

Develop and implement action plans for loan workouts, restructures, forbearance agreements, settlements, or liquidations.

Engage directly with borrowers to assess financial conditions, determine repayment capacity, and negotiate viable solutions.

Coordinate foreclosure, repossession, and legal collection efforts in conjunction with legal counsel and third‑party vendors.

Monitor and update the bank's internal watch list and maintain detailed documentation on all special assets.

Recommend charge‑offs, impairment levels, settlement strategies, and reserve adequacy in accordance with regulatory and accounting guidelines.

Prepare and present credit memos, action plans, and status updates to senior management, Loan Committee, and the Board of Directors as needed.

Ensure compliance with loan policy, regulatory requirements (FDIC, OCC, etc.), and applicable laws.

Assist in due diligence, documentation review, and risk analysis during loan participation sales, purchases, or loan sales.

Monitor emerging troubled credits by collaborating with lenders and reviewing accounts showing early signs of distress.

Oversee the bank's collection process.

Coordinate all bankruptcy actions filed by customers, including filing proof of claims, reaffirmation documents, and other actions necessary to protect the bank's interest, in collaboration with legal counsel as needed.

Serve as a resource to loan officers and Credit Department on handling troubled credits, interpreting risk indicators, and applying consistent workout strategies.

Participate in credit quality reviews, internal audits, and regulatory examinations by providing documentation, analysis, and updates on special assets.

Support stress‑testing and risk‑reporting efforts by contributing data, insights, and scenario considerations related to criticized and classified assets.

Recommend process improvements to enhance loss‑mitigation practices, documentation standards, and workflow efficiency.

Other Experience and Qualifications

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required:

Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or related field; minimum 5 years of experience in commercial lending, credit administration, or special assets/workout; strong knowledge of banking regulations, loan documentation, and credit risk analysis.

Excellent negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills; high attention to detail with strong organizational and time‑management abilities; ability to remain objective and professional in high‑stress or adversarial situations; strong judgment and problem‑solving skills with a proactive approach; ability to manage multiple complex cases simultaneously.
