Radiology Technologist - Surgery Responsibilities

  • Independently perform standard radiographic procedures in all settings.
  • Provide specialized mobile imaging in the operating room, emergencies, and inpatient settings.
  • Ensure high-quality intraoperative and bedside imaging.
  • Assist with departmental coverage at one or more satellite facilities; weekend; holiday and on-call coverage as required.
  • Independently handle, operate, and troubleshoot all equipment, including setup for C-Arm daily and case-specific use.
  • Perform C-Arm imaging while maintaining sterile technique and assisting with patient positioning.
  • Execute standard, emergent and portable exams across all settings, prioritizing imaging needs efficiently.
  • Maintain accurate imaging study documentation within electronic medical records and department-specific systems for timely and organized recordkeeping.
  • Collaborate with department teams to facilitate smooth procedural workflows.
  • Provide verbal and written instructions to patients and families on procedures as needed.
  • Ensure patients  safety and comfort during and after the exam.
  • Mentor students, participate in staff orientation, and assist in ongoing training and competency evaluations.
  • Contribute to quality assurance by auditing images, upholding imaging standards, and collaborating on protocol development.
  • Notify leadership and coordinate with vendors and biomedical teams to resolve technical issues and maintain equipment functionality.
  • Adhere to radiation safety protocols and adapt to procedural changes while maintaining a high level of professionalism and patient care.
Qualifications
  • Associate degree:
    Radiologic Technology or graduate of an accredited certification program in Radiologic Technology
  • One year of radiologic technologist experience (preferred)
  • Graduate of an accredited Radiologic Technology program
  • Licensed Radiographer in the State of Wisconsin.
  • American Registry of Radiologic Technologist (A.R.R.T) registered.
  • Current BLS and/or CPR certification from the American Heart Association or American Red Cross or the ability to obtain certification within 6 weeks of hire.

Salary Range: Up to $39.50/hr (based on experience)
