Position OverviewSouthwire Company is seeking skilled Maintenance Technician II professionals to support manufacturing operations through advanced multi-craft maintenance activities. This role focuses on equipment reliability, preventive and predictive maintenance, and continuous improvement within a high-volume industrial manufacturing environment.
Technicians at Level II are expected to demonstrate strong mechanical and electrical troubleshooting capabilities and serve as mentors to junior technicians.
Key Responsibilities Maintenance & Technical Duties- Install, align, and service mechanical drive systems
- Conduct major equipment service, overhauls, and component replacements
- Test electrical systems using meters (ohmmeters, voltmeters) to ensure safety and functionality
- Maintain lubrication schedules and ensure machinery meets operational specifications
- Accurately document maintenance activities using CMMS systems
- Recommend process and equipment improvements based on observed performance
- Train and mentor junior technicians and equipment operators
- Support process improvement and problem‑solving initiatives
- Maintain historical maintenance records to support reliability planning
- Maintain continuous learning mindset and complete annual Maintenance Skills Assessment
- Follow all plant safety procedures and report incidents or unsafe conditions immediately
- Comply with environmental policies and handle materials responsibly
- High School Diploma or GED (required)
- Minimum 5 years of industrial manufacturing maintenance experience
- Strong mechanical and electrical troubleshooting experience
- Proven experience working on physical manufacturing equipment
- 2-year Technical Degree
- Experience mentoring or training other technicians
- Certification testing completion or willingness to complete required assessments
