What You’ll Do
As an ICU RN, you’ll play a critical role in delivering advanced nursing care to critically ill patients while collaborating with a highly skilled interdisciplinary team.
Provide comprehensive high-acuity nursing care using the nursing process and evidence-based practice
Perform ongoing detailed assessments and promptly identify changes in patient condition
Administer medications, continuous infusions, IV therapies, blood products, and treatments safely and in accordance with hospital policy
Manage and monitor advanced medical equipment including cardiac monitors, ventilators, and infusion pumps
Collaborate with physicians, intensivists, and care team members to achieve positive patient outcomes
Educate patients and families with compassion regarding critical care treatments and plans of care
Respond promptly and professionally to patient needs, alarms, and call lights
Recognize and respond effectively to emergencies and life-threatening situations
Maintain a clean, organized, and healing patient environment
Participate in unit-based Quality Assurance, patient safety, and performance improvement initiatives
Support the orientation and training of new staff and nursing students as requested
Practice within the Wisconsin Nurse Practice Act and hospital policies
What We’re Looking For
Minimum of an Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN), BSN preferred
Active RN license eligible to practice in Wisconsin
Current BLS/CPR certification (or ability to obtain within 90 days of hire)
ACLS certification preferred or required within a defined timeframe
Strong critical thinking, communication, and organizational skills
Ability to safely use advanced patient care equipment and meet physical and cognitive job demands
Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English
Pay & Differentials
33.50 - 57.50 per hour based on experience
Evening and night shift differentials
Weekend Program differential available
