Description

American Traveler is hiring a Registered Nurse for an Outpatient Oncology Clinic position requiring 1 year of oncology RN experience and a WI or Compact RN license.

Details
  • Fast-paced outpatient medical hematology/oncology clinic setting
  • Day shift schedule, 5x8 hours, Monday-Friday, 8:00 AM-4:30 PM
  • Coordinates closely with Infusion and Radiation teams as well as Physicians and APPs
  • Responsible for triaging patient phone calls and responding to MyChart messages
  • Enters physician orders including labs, diagnostics, and treatment plan follow-ups
  • Arranges and coordinates diagnostic testing and genetic testing for patients
  • Tracks INR patients with labs and medications and follows Iron infusion patients
  • Epic EMR experience preferred
Requirements
  • Active WI or Compact RN license required (pending license accepted at submission, must be finalized during compliance)
  • Current BLS certification required; ACLS must be active and in hand at time of submission
  • NIHSS certification may be pending at submission but must be completed during compliance
  • Minimum 1 year of RN oncology experience required
  • Prior travel RN experience required
  • Epic charting system experience required
  • Skilled in chemotherapy administration, including oral chemotherapy
  • Experience with pain management, symptom management, and medication tolerance/dependence assessment
  • Knowledge of care for patients with various cancer types including breast, lung, colorectal, leukemia, lymphoma, and others
  • Ability to recognize and communicate abnormal lab values
  • Experience with post-surgical care and transdermal patch administration
  • SSN and DOB required for consideration
Additional Information
  • Provides patient education including chemo teaching sessions
  • Supports psychosocial care, advanced directives, and hospice care discussions with patients and families
  • Manages symptoms such as nausea/vomiting, neuropathy, dysphagia, edema, and altered mental status
  • Utilizes isolation precautions and PPE appropriately
  • Badge photo (passport-style) required within 24 hours of offer acceptance
  • Two supervisor references required after offer acceptance
  • Facility cannot accommodate candidates with latex allergies
  • Travelers may return to this facility only after a minimum 1-year separation
  • First-time travelers are accepted for this position
  • Travel pairs are accepted
  • Local candidates accepted at a reduced rate
