EHS Training Coordinator – North Chicago, IL/Pleasant Prairie, WI (On-site)

EMCO Chemical Distributors, LLC is a leading distributor, custom blender, and packager of chemicals in North America. The Company distributes and packages more than 300 million pounds of chemicals annually for over 4,000 customers across a variety of industries.

We are seeking an Environmental, Health, and Safety Training Coordinator based in North Chicago/Pleasant Prairie, WI (On-Site). As an EHS Training Coordinator, you will be responsible for developing and implementing safety training programs, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards, and fostering a culture of health and safety.

Local candidates are preferred. Relocation assistance is not available for this role.

This is a full-time, on-site position based in North Chicago, IL/Pleasant Prairie, WI. As an EHS Training Coordinator, you will be responsible for developing and implementing safety training programs, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards, and fostering a culture of health and safety.

• Schedule and present EHS training across Pleasant Prairie, WI, North Chicago, IL, and Columbia, IL. Including but not limited to:
  Fork-Lift, Fall Protection, Respiratory Protection, Hazard Communication, Confined Space, Lock-out Tag-out, Hot Work, RCRA, SWPPP, etc.
• Maintain and update EHS training database ensuring they are audit ready.
• Assist in safety audits, inspections, and investigation pertaining to injuries / incidents.
• Assist EHS Managers with enforcing safety initiatives, rules and OSHA regulations.
• Assist with coaching, mentoring and communicating to drive safety responsibility on the production level.
• Assist Legal Department in issuance and tracking of various other employee trainings (Code of Conduct, sexual harassment, etc.).
• Travel to other EMCO facilities, under the direction of the Environmental and Health, Safety & Security Directors. This position involves safety-sensitive functions.
• Participate in Safety Committee Activities.
• Ability to drive a forklift or obtain a forklift license.
• Position requires 10% Travel.

• One-two years’ experience with Environment Health and Safety (EHS), Occupational Health, and Workplace Safety initiatives.
• Background in developing and delivering Safety Training programs.
• Knowledge of Health & Safety regulations and compliance standards.
• Ability to conduct workplace safety assessments and implement preventive measures.
• Excellent communication, presentation, and organizational skills.
• Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Safety, Environmental Science, or a related field is preferred.
• Proven ability to foster a culture of safety and collaborate effectively across teams
