Job Duties:

• Ensures and provides security for patients, employees, and visitors.
• Protects hospitals, buildings, assets, parking lots, and grounds.
• Investigate incidents of all types that occur on Froedtert South property and generates reports and follow up activities as a result.
• Perform other tasks and projects assigned.
• Provides a secure environment for patients, staff, and visitors.
• Complete reports related to Security by the end of shift.
• Provide exceptional customer service and patrol grounds and buildings via vehicle and on foot promoting a safe and secure environment.
• Exercise good judgment and logical thinking in determining the appropriate course of action.
• Complete assigned duties in a professional and timely manner.
• Investigate security threats and breaches and provide prompt follow-up.
• Maintain confidentiality, discretion, and follow privacy standards.

Security Officer

Minimum Requirements:

• High School or Equivalent (GED)
• 1-3 years of security-related experience is preferred.
• Valid driver license to operate a motor vehicle.
• Driving record must reflect insurability via Froedtert South’s automotive insurance carrier for authorized operation of fleet and patient/visitor vehicles (e.g. valet-related purposes).
• Degree or certificate from academy or technical school in Police Science, Criminal Justice, Security, or a related field is preferred.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) Heart Saver (CPR/AED) certification via the American Heart Association within 6 months from hire date.
• Ability to comprehend instructions and reference material to professionally communicate via effective written, verbal, and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to remain calm in stressful situations, attentive to detail, and work in a challenging environment.
• Ability to write comprehensive security reports.
• Physical ability to walk, run, bend, and kneel for extended periods and transport guests in wheelchairs/beds.
• Ability to calmly intervene with combative and aggressive individuals.

Salary Range: $17.00 to $25.25/hr (based on experience)
