This role is on site in Pleasanton, California with a semi hybrid schedule.
The Senior Manager, Corporate Accounting is a key member of the Finance team responsible for overseeing a broad range of corporate accounting functions, including financial statement preparation, consolidation, special projects, ensuring proper accounting for corporate related activities. This role will play a critical role in ensuring the accuracy and integrity of the company’s financial statements in accordance with US GAAP. The ideal candidate will possess strong technical accounting skills, excellent communication and analytical abilities, and a proven track record of success in a fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities- Oversee all aspects of the company’s accounting operations.
- Consolidation: Lead the consolidation process for all subsidiaries, including intercompany eliminations and foreign currency translations.
- Corporate Accounting: Close management; lead, prepare, and execute day-to-day accounting operations including general ledger, accounts payable, payroll accounting, fixed assets, and cash transactions.
- Financial Reporting: Using Net Suite, prepare and review monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements (balance sheet, income statement, statement of cash flows) along with flux analysis.
- Technical Accounting: Research and analyze new accounting pronouncements and their impact on the company in collaboration with Senior Manager of Technical Accounting.
- Development of Accounting Policies: Work with the Director of Accounting to identify areas for which accounting policies should be established and to implement appropriate policies.
- Internal Controls: Assist with the implementation and development of internal controls.
- Team Management: Manage and mentor junior accounting staff and coordinate with the India accounting team.
- System Implementation & Improvement: Assist in the implementation and ongoing improvement of accounting systems and processes.
- Audit Support: Coordinate with external auditors for quarterly reviews and annual audits.
- Special Projects: Assist with special projects and ad-hoc requests as needed.
- Collaborate closely with other departments, including Sales, Finance (FP&A), Legal, and Tax.
- Work closely with the India-based accounting team to ensure efficient and accurate financial reporting. This may require meetings at early morning or late evening times.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders, cross-departmental leaders, and executives.
- Industry knowledge of best practices.
- Drive quality into the organization through constant inspection, verification, and reconciliation.
- Effectively lead change management across teams through documented governance.
- Be a trusted advisor across the business.
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance required.
- CPA certification preferred.
- Minimum 10 years of relevant experience in accounting, with at least 5 years in public accounting (Big 4 preferred) and public company experience.
- Strong understanding of US GAAP.
- Extensive experience in consolidation accounting, including intercompany eliminations and foreign currency translations.
- Experience with ERP systems, especially Net Suite, and other accounting software.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Experience supervising and mentoring a team.
- Experience coordinating with remote teams, particularly in India, is a plus.
- Result-oriented with ability to identify root causes, develop creative solutions, and implement fact-based resolutions to drive productivity.
- Excellent presentation, communication, and relationship-building skills.
- Highly organized with excellent attention to detail.
