SummaryThe Experienced Senior Audit Associate plays a crucial role in leading audit engagements, managing client relationships, and providing technical expertise and guidance to audit teams. This role is responsible for planning, monitoring, and completing several engagements simultaneously in addition to taking on a stronger leadership role within the Firm. As an Experienced Senior, they successfully tackle larger and more complex engagements and develop specialized technical expertise in one or more areas/industries.
Experienced Seniors will also design and lead trainings, provide input on creating efficiencies to the audit process, aid in recruiting, or other value add activities of the Firm.
- Lead and manage audit engagements from planning to completion, including coordination with client personnel, assignment of tasks to team members, and review of audit work papers.
- Develop and execute risk-based audit plans, identifying key audit risks, controls, and testing procedures to achieve audit objectives efficiently and effectively.
- Monitor engagement progress, budgets, and timelines, and proactively communicate any issues or delays to engagement management and clients.
- Provide technical expertise and guidance to audit teams on complex audit issues, accounting standards, and auditing procedures.
- Review audit work papers, financial statements, and supporting documentation prepared by audit staff for accuracy, completeness, and compliance with auditing standards.
- Serve as a subject matter expert in areas such as revenue recognition, financial instruments, leases, and other complex accounting and auditing topics.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with client personnel, demonstrating professionalism, integrity, and responsiveness in all interactions.
- Mentor and coach audit staff, providing guidance, feedback, and support to facilitate their professional growth and development.
- Conduct performance evaluations and provide constructive feedback to audit staff to help them improve their skills and performance.
- Ensure compliance with firm policies, auditing standards, and regulatory requirements in the execution of audit engagements.
- Identify opportunities for process improvements, efficiency enhancements, and best practices implementation within the audit department.
Must haves:
- Bachelor's degree in accounting or related field required
- Master's degree in accounting or related field
- Minimum four (4) years of experience in public accounting with focus on audit engagements
- Licensed CPA or working towards CPA licensure
- Strong technical knowledge of auditing standards, GAAP, and GAAS.
- Strong written and oral communication skills
- Strong critical thinking and problem solving skills.
- Demonstrated leadership ability, with experience in managing audit engagements and mentoring junior staff.
- Proficiency in audit software and Microsoft Office suite.
- Commitment to professionalism, integrity, and quality in all aspects of work.
- Strong analytical aptitude and application
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Adobe
Nice to have:
- Experience auditing Venture Capital and/or Private Equity entities
- Experience with accounting software (We use CCH products; Pro Systems and FX Engagement)
This role offers a competitive base salary along with a comprehensive benefits package. The anticipated salary ranges for this position are outlined below and are subject to change:
- $74,460 - $150,402
