The Foreman plays an entry level leadership role in coordinating and overseeing the work of the trade partners and Quiring General laborers on construction projects while also completing tasks as needed. This position works closely with the Assistant Superintendent or Superintendent ensuring that projects are completed successfully, safely, and efficiently, while maintaining high-quality standards. The Foreman will provide direction on the work of laborers and trade partners as assigned.
Responsibilities- Assist in coordinating and monitoring productivity of laborers and trade partners.
- Conduct daily and pre-task hazard assessments and report safety concerns.
- Initiate RFIs and collaborate with Project Engineers.
- Assist in maintaining visitor and subcontractor logs.
- Support daily work coordination between subcontractors and Quiring personnel.
- Track back charges and T&M work in collaboration with the project team.
- Perform basic layout and control; maintaining lines and elevations.
- Conduct quality control checks and communicate findings to the Superintendent.
- Contribute to work-to-complete efforts and assist in punch list readiness.
- Maintain temporary site facilities and perform monthly safety equipment checks.
- Review subcontractor pre-task plans and ensure field readiness.
- Maintain familiarity with trade scopes and responsibilities.
- Provide input on 3-week look-ahead schedules and assist with logistics planning.
- Active participation and execution of Quiring’s Safety Program to maintain a healthy and injury-free work environment.
- Participation in training and company meetings as appropriate to support individual and organizational growth.
- Contributes to team and client relationship development through effective communication and collaboration.
- Completes other duties as assigned.
- Proven experience (generally four plus years) in a construction Laborer role with increasing responsibilities.
- Ability to create and support team morale.
- Ability to strategize, solve problems, and plan.
- Basic computer skills in Microsoft Office Suite.
- Knowledge of construction methods, materials, and building codes.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to work cross-functionally.
- Self-motivated with the ability to work independently.
- Must possess a valid California driver’s license.
- Previous internship or coursework related to construction management.
