An established civil engineering firm is seeking an Associate Civil Engineer to support land development and public infrastructure projects. This role offers the opportunity to work on a diverse portfolio including residential, commercial, mixed-use, and municipal infrastructure projects, with exposure to site design, grading, utilities, and stormwater systems. Candidates with experience or interest in land development design, public infrastructure, and hydrology and hydraulic modeling are encouraged to apply.
A Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or a related field from an ABET-accredited university is required. Professional Engineer licensure in California is preferred. Candidates must be authorized to work in the United States.
Key Responsibilities- Support senior engineers on land development and public infrastructure projects including grading, drainage, utilities, and water resources
- Perform AutoCAD Civil 3D design and drafting for site layout, earthwork, and infrastructure improvements
- Prepare hydrology and hydraulics calculations related to stormwater and flood control systems
- Coordinate with public agencies, clients, and external consultants
- Assist with project documentation including submittals, schedules, and technical reports
- Provide guidance and oversight to junior and assistant-level staff as needed
- Minimum of 4 years of civil engineering design experience in land development and/or public infrastructure projects in California
- Proficiency in AutoCAD Civil 3D
- Exposure to project coordination activities such as agency communication, consultant coordination, submittal preparation, scheduling, and proposal support
- Experience with hydrology and hydraulic modeling is a plus
- Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to work effectively in a team environment
