At Bio-Rad, we advance science and save lives, together. As an Engineering Intern, you will work closely with the R&D Engineering Team in the Life Sciences Group to support the development and evaluation of laboratory instruments used for droplet generation and analysis.
How You’ll Make An Impact- Assist engineers in system characterization testing across multiple instruments to understand performance variation.
- Verify instrument configurations and ensure systems are properly set up and updated for testing.
- Collect and analyze data to evaluate system performance, including accuracy and repeatability.
- Investigate unexpected behaviors or failures and work with engineers to troubleshoot issues and identify possible causes.
- Document results and present findings and observations to the engineering team.
- Education:
Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree at an accredited university in Systems Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Biomedical Engineering or related field. - Strong attention to detail with the ability to document and organize technical work.
- Interest in laboratory experimentation, testing, and data analysis.
- Basic familiarity with engineering principles such as fluidics, optics, or instrumentation is a plus.
- Experience using common data analysis tools (e.g., Excel, MATLAB, Python) is a plus.
- 3.0 Minimum GPA.
- Rising Juniors, Seniors, and Masters Students.
- Be willing to make a full-time commitment of 40 hours a week for 9 weeks from June 15 to August 14, 2026.
This position must be based in Pleasanton, California and requires the employee to be located within commuting distance of the office.

CompensationThe hourly range for this position is $25 at the time of posting. Actual compensation will be provided in writing at the time of offer, if applicable, and is based on several factors we believe fairly and accurately impact compensation, including geographic location, experience, knowledge, skills, abilities, and other job permitted factors.
