The RoleSenior Electrical Engineer responsible for developing electronic solutions for quantum instruments. Oversee the full lifecycle of complex circuits, from concept through production, ensuring quality and design integrity.
Responsibilities- Partner with cross‑functional teams of physicists and mechanical/optical engineers to translate system requirements into innovative schematic designs.
- Lead the complete PCBA journey for high‑speed digital, precision analog, mixed‑signal, and RF boards.
- Establish and advocate for PCB layout standards, including stack‑ups, impedance profiles, and EMI/EMC‑aware strategies.
- Drive component selection and routing to optimize signal integrity, power integrity, thermal efficiency, and manufacturability.
- Design and develop point‑of‑load power supply circuits with stringent sequencing, ripple, and efficiency requirements.
- Collaborate with fabricators to improve yields, address support issues, and define test procedures for DFM/DFA compliance.
- Maintain accurate design data, revisions, and engineering change orders within a cloud‑based PLM system.
- Perform hands‑on hardware debugging and verification using standard laboratory equipment.
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering (or related field) with 6+ years of experience, or Master’s degree with 3+ years.
- At least 3 years of complex, mixed‑signal PCBA design experience using advanced ECAD tools.
- U.S. citizenship, permanent residency, or eligible refugee/asylee status required for export‑control compliance.
- Expertise in high‑density layouts, fine‑pitch BGAs, and controlled‑impedance structures.
- Experience designing with modern FPGAs, MCUs, and precision analog circuits.
- Hands‑on skill with oscilloscopes, digital voltmeters, and spectrum analyzers.
- Excellent written and verbal communication for cross‑functional collaboration.
- Advanced experience in Altium Designer, including schematic capture, library management, and constraint‑driven layouts.
- Experience integrating PCB designs with PLM/ERP systems and managing component life cycles.
- Background in defining, simulating, and verifying ASIC designs.
- Low‑power design experience and familiarity with RoHS/CE, EMI/EMC, and UL compliance standards.

Approximate base salary range: $142,113 to $186,063 per year. Compensation varies based on individual factors, location, and market data.
