R&D Engineer

Pleasanton, California, United States (on-site)

• Provide technical support and expertise to Greenfield’s largest U.S. customer across multi‑million dollar projects and long‑term programs.
• Design, implement, maintain, and improve high‑precision electronic and timing instrumentation and embedded controller systems for scientific, defense, and industrial applications.
• Collaborate with engineers and customers to define project requirements, resolve technical issues, and support ongoing engineering improvements.
• Coordinate technical support, documentation, and testing activities to ensure compliance with specifications and customer requirements.
• Operate computer‑assisted engineering/design tools to perform engineering tasks and validate circuits and embedded electronic components.
• Develop test approaches, evaluate performance and reliability, and support engineering modifications based on customer feedback and project needs.
• Perform detailed engineering calculations and technical analysis to establish design and manufacturing specifications, confirming design feasibility, performance limits, component selection, and electrical tolerances.
• Direct and coordinate prototype and manufacturing support and testing activities to ensure compliance with specifications; support prototype builds and early manufacturing phases.
• Coordinate and supervise subcontractors producing prototype units, validate performance and reliability, troubleshoot nonconformities, and provide engineering support for manufacturing scale‑up and deployment.
• Design, develop, integrate, and test internal high‑precision electronic systems and firmware for advanced electronic systems.
• Supervise internal technical work streams and coordinate engineering tasks needed for updates, enhancements, and performance improvements to meet internal quality standards and customer‑driven requests.
• Prepare technical drawings, specifications, and engineering reports and documentation to support internal deliverables and customer requirements.
• Maintain engineering design documentation, design review materials, test reports, technical manuals, and manufacturing documentation to support internal deliverables, customer requirements, and production readiness.
• Assist with operational engineering support tasks such as coordination among teams, documentation control, reporting support, configuration tracking, and preparation of technical specifications for procurement‑related engineering needs.

• Master’s Degree in Electronic Engineering or Electrical Engineering.
• At least 60 months of experience in electrical or electronic engineering, including design, development, integration, and testing of advanced electronic systems.
