Maintenance Technician / Mechanic, Field/Service Technician, Automation & Mechatronics Engineer
ABM Industries is seeking a Senior Field Engineer to support Industrial Services & Manufacturing clients within our Engineering, Maintenance & Asset Management team. In this role, you will lead complex field engineering projects, oversee equipment installation, commissioning, and troubleshooting, and drive reliability and maintenance improvements across client facilities. You will serve as a technical expert, guiding junior engineers and technicians, developing maintenance plans, and ensuring compliance with safety, quality, and regulatory standards.
The Senior Field Engineer partners closely with client operations, promoting ABM's culture of safety, respect, and inclusion while delivering innovative, cost-effective solutions that enhance asset performance and facility uptime. Responsibilities
- Lead field engineering projects, including equipment installation, commissioning, and optimization for industrial clients.
- Diagnose and resolve complex mechanical, electrical, and controls issues on production and facility systems.
- Develop and implement preventive and predictive maintenance programs to improve asset reliability and uptime.
- Conduct root cause analysis (RCA) and recommend corrective actions for recurring equipment failures.
- Ensure compliance with OSHA, NFPA, and client-specific safety and quality standards at all times.
- Prepare technical reports, procedures, and documentation for equipment, maintenance, and project activities.
- Mentor and provide technical guidance to junior engineers and field technicians.
- Collaborate with client operations, maintenance, and ABM leadership to scope and deliver engineering solutions.
- Support capital projects, including equipment selection, layout, and integration into existing systems.
- Identify and drive continuous improvement initiatives to reduce downtime and maintenance costs.
