Reserve Firefighter

We’re Looking for Someone Who Is:

What You’ll Do:
  • Participate in a multi‑weekend academy to learn basic Firefighter‑1 skills, including auto‑extrication, rope systems, structural and wildland firefighting, and medical skills
  • Attend regular trainings twice a month to build and maintain proficiency in emergency response techniques
  • Complete a 6‑month probationary period, after which you'll engage in monthly ride‑alongs to observe and assist with daily activities like equipment checks, station responsibilities, and emergency operations
  • Support public education, community outreach, and LP Firefighters Foundation events, such as MDA Fill‑the‑Boot, Toys for Tots, and Canned Food Drives
  • Assist in providing services like fire suppression, emergency medical service, hazardous materials response, wildland‑urban interface, water rescue, and auto extrication as part of the team
  • Uphold the department's core values of integrity, duty, honor, courage, and professionalism in all duties
  • Contribute to the department's mission by protecting life, property, and the environment through volunteer service
  • Serve as a key supporter in mutual aid strike teams, FEMA USAR, CERT, Honor Guard, and fire prevention efforts when opportunities arise
