Service & Delivery Technician III

Overview

Service and Delivery Technician III supporting Safeway retail grocery stores in Pleasanton, San Leandro & Richmond, CA and the surrounding area. Based in Pleasanton, CA. The role focuses on IT support, deploying equipment, and installing hardware and software to enable store operations.

• Provide IT support to Safeway stores in and around Pleasanton, CA
• Deploy equipment and install new hardware and software
• Manage computers, printers, POS systems, scales, and network servers
• Troubleshoot and repair IT hardware and systems
• Ensure complete recoverability of systems and applications
• Provide customers with IT support and meet service level agreements
• Provide network and remote connectivity support (hardware/software)
• Maintain equipment inventory controls and policies
• Coordinate with Support Center (STSC) on problem assignment and follow-up
• Interface with Corporate IT groups for on-site support and resolutions
• Adhere to repair standards and service levels
• Travel within the Zone Service Area (up to 20%)

• Excellent telephone, customer service and problem-solving skills for high-pressure issues
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills; ability to present technical information to non-technical users
• Working knowledge of IT hardware, Windows, MS Office, and related applications
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a matrixed organization
• Flexibility to work various shifts (day, evening, overnight) and on-call support
• Strong sense of urgency, dependability and ethics

We believe the successful candidate has these qualifications and experience:

• High school graduate; BA/BS preferred, or 3+ years of technical/training/hardware certifications
• 5+ years of IT project implementation exposure and 2+ years of technical support experience
• 2+ years of experience with retail store systems, technology systems and hardware
• 2+ years of installation and configuration of desktop and peripheral technology
• Good driving record and reliable vehicle

• Work may be performed in a temperature-controlled environment
• Must sit, stand, or walk for extended periods
• May spend long periods at a desk or computer terminal
• Use keyboards, telephone, and other office equipment
• Stooping, bending, twisting, and reaching may be required
• Fast-paced workday; some evening and weekend work may be required
• Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds; some twisting and turning with equipment installs
