Role Overview
Seeking a Data Governance Specialist to support customer data quality, governance, and compliance initiatives within a retail environment. This role will partner cross-functionally to ensure high-quality, compliant, and well-managed customer data across systems.
Key Responsibilities
- Improve and maintain customer data quality including accuracy, completeness, and consistency.
- Apply and enforce data governance policies, standards, and business rules.
- Manage and maintain data catalog, metadata, and data lineage documentation.
- Support compliance efforts related to data privacy regulations such as GDPR and CCPA.
- Partner with data engineering, analytics, and business stakeholders on governance initiatives.
- Monitor data quality issues and drive remediation efforts.
Required Qualifications
- Proven experience in data governance and data quality management.
- Strong understanding of customer data within retail or consumer-facing environments.
- Knowledge of data privacy, PII, and regulatory compliance (GDPR, CCPA).
- Ability to communicate effectively with senior stakeholders, including C-suite.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with data catalog or governance tools.
- Background working in large-scale or enterprise data environments.
- Familiarity with data lineage and metadata management tools.
