Data Governance Specialist - Customer, Loyalty, Marketing

Role Overview

Seeking a Data Governance Specialist to support customer data quality, governance, and compliance initiatives within a retail environment. This role will partner cross-functionally to ensure high-quality, compliant, and well-managed customer data across systems.

Key Responsibilities

• Improve and maintain customer data quality including accuracy, completeness, and consistency.
• Apply and enforce data governance policies, standards, and business rules.
• Manage and maintain data catalog, metadata, and data lineage documentation.
• Support compliance efforts related to data privacy regulations such as GDPR and CCPA.
• Partner with data engineering, analytics, and business stakeholders on governance initiatives.
• Monitor data quality issues and drive remediation efforts.

Required Qualifications

• Proven experience in data governance and data quality management.
• Strong understanding of customer data within retail or consumer-facing environments.
• Knowledge of data privacy, PII, and regulatory compliance (GDPR, CCPA).
• Ability to communicate effectively with senior stakeholders, including C-suite.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with data catalog or governance tools.
• Background working in large-scale or enterprise data environments.
• Familiarity with data lineage and metadata management tools.
