Principal, Solution Consultant

About the Role

Provide senior-level presales technical leadership to support the sale of complex enterprise software solutions using Workday Financials and related cloud technologies. Lead discovery sessions, develop technical presentations, guide sales teams, collaborate across organizations, and consult on solution design.

• Lead discovery sessions with prospective clients to analyze requirements and design advanced solution architectures.
• Develop and deliver high-impact technical presentations, product demonstrations, and proof‑of‑concept configurations for executive-level stakeholders.
• Serve as a subject‑matter expert guiding sales teams in defining solution strategy, scope, and positioning for complex or competitive opportunities.
• Collaborate with Product Management, Engineering, and Implementation teams to influence roadmap priorities and ensure proposed solutions align with client and market needs.
• Provide technical consultation to clients on solution design, configuration options, and integration strategies.

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field.
• Five (5) years of experience in roles focused on business process analysis for enterprise finance functions (General Ledger, Payables, Receivables, Banking, Fixed Assets, Period Close) and solution design.
• Five (5) years of experience designing and presenting solution approaches, configurations, and proofs‑of‑concept to demonstrate product capabilities.
• Five (5) years of experience delivering software demonstrations and presentations to business and technical audiences.
• Five (5) years of applying financial accounting principles (GAAP/IFRS) and internal control concepts in solution design.
• Five (5) years of preparing RFI/RFP responses and solution documentation aligned to customer requirements.
• Five (5) years of explaining integration, reporting, and data flow concepts related to cloud‑based financial systems.
• Five (5) years of collaborating with Sales, Product Management, and Implementation teams to define scope and align proposed solutions with product strategy.

• Master’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field.
• Three (3) years of experience in the same areas outlined in the Technical Qualifications.

Workday pay ranges vary based on work location. This role may be eligible for the Workday Bonus Plan, role‑specific commission/bonus, and annual refresh stock grants. Compensation is based on factors including geography, experience, skills, job duties, and business need.
