Essential Duties & Responsibilities- Ensure that all inspections are completed on a timely basis and that inspections are done accurately and thoroughly.
- Test all building sprinkler control panels, devices, and functions of the sprinkler system and enter the test results into the Palm handheld device.
- Upon completion of an inspection download the information and generate a completed Sprinkler Inspection Report.
- Participate in monthly team meetings.
- Perform other duties assigned by management.
- High School diploma or equivalent is acceptable with acceptable experience.
- Strong background with NFPA 25 and inspection of fire sprinkler/standpipe systems, fire pumps, and hydrants.
- Study and learn NFPA standards for the inspection and testing of fire protection systems. Stay current with code requirements, industry changes, and obtain NICET certifications.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills and a customer‑service orientation.
- Ability and willingness to work within a team environment.
- Sprinkler experience is required.
- Proficiency in using test equipment including sensitivity test equipment, multimeters, battery analyzers, sound level meters, and communication devices.
- Good PC networking skills, including use of Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, and Palm unit operating systems.
- Reliable transportation to and from the office or job site.
- Punctuality is critical because of sound testing prior to building tenant arrivals.
- Adhere to the Code of Conduct, Confidentiality Agreement, and Company Safety Policy.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Ability to work in industrial, commercial, and residential building environments with moderate to high noise levels and at heights.
- Physical demands include standing, walking, stairs, and ladder climbing on a daily basis.
- May need to lift objects up to 50 lbs.
- Ability to be on the phone and computer consistently throughout the day.
$25.00 – $40.00 hourly (DOE)
