Piper Companies is seeking a CNC Machinist to support a well‑established organization in the precision manufacturing industry for a fully onsite 4-6 month contract role located in Pleasanton, CA
. The CNC Machinist will handle full‑cycle machining work, including programming, setup, and hands‑on production of complex components within a high‑accuracy environment.
- Build and modify CNC programs while selecting appropriate tools, work holding, and machining strategies.
- Perform complete machine setups, verify first article accuracy, and manage production runs with minimal oversight.
- Interpret detailed engineering drawings and specifications to determine machining sequences and quality checkpoints.
- Troubleshoot machining issues, adjust cutting parameters, and refine programs to maintain part integrity and consistency.
- Utilize manual machining equipment to support secondary operations and custom component fabrication.
- Extensive hands‑on CNC machining experience with proven ability to program, set up, and operate equipment independently.
- Strong background with CAM software (Surfcam or similar) for generating and improving toolpaths.
- Proficient in reading complex blueprints and applying GD&T principles to machining and inspection processes.
- Skilled with precision measurement instruments such as micrometers, height gauges, indicators, and bore gauges.
- Demonstrated commitment to safety, quality, and maintaining an organized, efficient work area.
Salary Range: $65,000-$85,000/year (flexible dependent on experience)
