SummaryThe Sourcing Manager of New Product Development represents the Supply Chain in projects for new product launches and acts as single point of contact during the NPD (New Product Development) lifecycle process. In addition to the core Strategic Sourcing, Procurement, and Supplier Management skillset, a heavy focus on developing process across the supply chain related to NPD will be needed. This is a new role and you will need to be comfortable with ambiguity.
InThis Role, You Will
- Supply Chain single point of contact for New Product Development projects. Collaborate with R&D, Product, Engineering, and Commercial teams on Supply Chain and overall project deliverables from Concept to Launch
- Lead all Sourcing activities for new products (Conduct Supply Market Analysis, Select candidate suppliers, run Competitive selections/Direct negotiations, negotiate and award)
- Work closely with S&OP and Materials teams to plan on material availability and supplier readiness steps needed to launch
- Develop product launch plan, defines supply chain strategy and manage project schedules to deliver operational readiness and product delivery
- Work closely with sustaining teams on handover of new projects, as well as timing and coordination between current product mix and new product introduction
- Identify and manage risks associated with meeting technical and operational targets for project launches
- Use your influencing skills to gain support from the Product and R&D teams to evaluate new sources of supply
- Lead direct report(s), support onboarding, skill development, and role effectiveness through regular checkins, feedback, and coaching.
- Sr. Director, Supply Chain
- 8+ years of relevant sourcing / procurement experience in a Medical Device industry required
- Demonstrated ability to coach, mentor, and collaborate effectively, with strong interpersonal skills and a thoughtful approach to supporting individual performance, development, and engagement of team members.
- Proven experience managing a Direct Spend category such as raw materials and components
- Experience working with Contract Manufacturing
- Catheter based medical device experience a strong plus
- Strong project management skills
- Continuous improvement experience, experience with building new processes
- Self-starter, demonstrated ability operate and excel in ill-defined environments requiring structure
- Excellent business partner engagement skills, influencing will be a key component of this role
- Ability to navigate through a matrixed organization
- Global experience a plus
