Position: Patient Care Manager (RN), TV Clinic Ortho – Full Time, Days (08HR)

The Patient Care Manager is a Registered Nurse who provides unit leadership and works in partnership with nursing, the healthcare team, hospital/system leaders to develop a quality practice setting that supports professional nursing and quality patient care. The Nurse Manager is accountable for the effective delivery of competent, compassionate, and efficient patient care.

Responsibilities
  • Planned, organized, and directed nursing services of unit(s) including assessment of patients, implementation of physicians' orders, treatment plans, and medical procedures.
  • Administered medication and maintained accurate records of same; monitored and evaluated patient care processes and outcomes.
  • Coordinated nursing activities with other services or disciplines.
  • Supervised a professional team that includes multiple nursing and other staff as appropriate.
  • Managed administrative and budget responsibilities, including forecasting departmental budgets, interpreting payroll and fiscal reports, and projecting workload.
  • Troubleshot problem areas, implemented organizational change management, and ensured compliance with accreditation and regulatory standards.
  • Implemented quality assurance/quality improvement initiatives and safety/risk management requirements.
  • Developed and facilitated professional development and clinical growth of nursing staff through unit competencies and educational opportunities.
  • Ensured effective leadership and communication, managed conflicts, engaged employees and interdisciplinary colleagues, and collaborated with hospital departments to enhance problem solving and performance improvement.
  • Supported the quality framework, including clinical and service quality indicators, to create an environment of patient care that is safe, effective, patient‑centered, and equitable.
Qualifications
  • Education:

    Bachelor’s and/or Master’s in Nursing from an accredited college or university.
  • Experience:

    Three (3) years of progressively responsible and directly related work experience.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • Ability to contribute to health care policy formulation in partnership with a multidisciplinary team of health care providers.
  • Ability to delegate responsibly, develop programs, and lead process improvement projects.
  • Ability to establish strategic direction and business plans for a functional group.
  • Ability to initiate and implement changes conducive to the improvement of quality and safety of patient care delivery.
  • Ability to provide leadership, influence others to meet patient needs, prioritize system resources, promote cooperative behaviors, act as a role model, resource, and mentor.
  • Ability to supervise, coach, mentor, train, and evaluate work results.
  • Ability to use information and keep abreast of technological developments to communicate, manage knowledge, mitigate error, and support decision‑making in patient care.
  • Knowledge of current theories, principles, practices, standards, emerging technologies, techniques, and approaches in the nursing profession and the health care system.
  • Knowledge of laws, rules and regulations, standards and guidelines of certifying and accrediting bodies, hospital and department/unit standards, protocols, policies and procedures governing nursing care provision.
  • Knowledge of principles, practices, and current trends in health care and hospital system organization and administration sufficient to provide clinical management, leadership, coordination, and operational direction for assigned areas.
Licenses and Certifications
  • Registered Nurse (RN) – State Licensure and/or Compact State Licensure.

Benefits and Compensation
  • Base Pay Scale:
    Generally starting at $89.01 - $117.94 per hour.
  • Salary set based on internal equity, experience, education, specialty and training; pay scale is not a guarantee of a particular wage.
