Cardiac Surgery APP (Nurse Practitioner/Physician Assistant)
We are seeking a skilled and experienced CT Surgery APP to join our dynamic team of 2 physicians and 4 advanced practice providers. Stanford Health Care Tri-Valley is a 167 Bed Hospital with a closed ICU, and coverage by in-house intensivists. The ideal candidate is an experienced PA-C or NP-C with RNFA certification, has experience in the operating room, inpatient and outpatient clinical settings, and EVH competency.
As part of our team, you will play a crucial role in delivering exceptional care in a team environment. The incoming APP can anticipate a mix of cardiac surgical OR, outpatient clinic, ICU and Step-Down Unit support, and peri-procedural management TAVR patients.

Key Responsibilities:
- Serve as a First or Second assistant during cardiac surgeries.
- Assist the surgeon with positioning and draping of the patient, as well as suturing and tissue handling.
- Prepare surgical instruments and equipment for procedures.
- Assist with setup and breakdown of operating room before and after surgeries.
- Support the surgeon during minimally invasive procedures.
- Collaborate with the surgical team to ensure the safe and efficient completion of surgical procedures.
- Maintain accurate and detailed patient records.
- See patients independently and alongside surgeons in outpatient clinics, and assume responsibility for all preoperative workups for surgical patients.
- See postoperative patients in clinics with the potential for wound care and debridement.
- Adhere to all hospital policies, procedures, and safety protocols.

Schedule:
Starting schedule: 4-5 day work week during onboarding. Split between clinic, inpatient, OR at manager's discretion, based on training needs. Schedule is typically six 12-hour shifts and one 8-hour shift per 2-week pay period; eligibility, and timing of schedule change to be determined at manager's discretion. Call: 24/7 call is split evenly amongst the team. Typically, team members are eligible for call after 3-6 months' probationary period with demonstrated ability to operate with all surgeons and endoscopic vein harvest competence.
Qualifications:
- Minimum 1 year of experience in operating room and clinical settings.
- Prior experience as a First or Second Assistant is essential; EVH experience preferred.
- Current BLS certification, DEA. NP candidates must have RNFA.
Education
Qualifications:
- 1. Bachelor's degree or above from an accredited college or university.
- Note:
PAs hired prior to July 1, 2012 are not subject to this educational requirement
- Graduate of a PA program accredited by the Accreditation Review Commission on Education for the Physician Assistant, Inc.

Base Pay Scale:
Generally starting at $89.01 - $117.94 per hour
