Operating Room Scheduler Full Time Days

Day - 08 Hour (United States of America)

The Operating Room Scheduler performs scheduling and secretarial duties for the Department of Surgical Services.

The essential functions listed below are general examples and not a description of comprehensive duties. May be asked to perform other duties as assigned.

• Schedules surgical procedures in computer, accurately watching for equipment conflicts to include OR, GI Lab, MPR and medical admits.
• Responsible for following proctoring protocol for new physicians, physician privileges and suspension lists and notifies Supervisor of any problems with these.
• Communicates with appropriate departments and resources the delays, cancellations, and add-on of surgical cases.
• Maintains surgery schedule without conflicts.
• Prints surgery schedule as needed and distributes to appropriate areas.
• Functions as a knowledgeable resource person for scheduling grid application.
• Reviews all faxes the night before for accuracy and confirms all codes, diagnosis and authorizations are complete.

• High school graduate or equivalent.

• Previous experience in medical setting preferred.

• Current American Heart Association BLS Certification preferred.

• Knowledge of medical terminology.
• Excellent computer skills.
• Good communication skills with the ability to read, write and understand the English language.
• Ability to work as a valued team member.
• Problem identification and resolution skills.
• Effective organizational, and interpersonal skills.
• Strong attention to detail.

Generally starting at $28.84 - $37.08 per hour. The salary of the finalist selected for this role will be set based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to, internal equity, experience, education, specialty and training. This pay scale is not a promise of a particular wage.
