Microbiology Technician/Associate Scientist

Location: Pleasanton, CA

Duration: 3 months

Schedule: 8 am - 5 pm, Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday (24 hours per week)

• Execute a variety of simple to complex microbiological laboratory experiments to support internal R&D formulation and method development.
• Support technical capability building for tuberculosis testing of cleaning/disinfecting products.
• Partner with Senior Microbiologists to develop and validate testing capabilities for the Professional Business Unit.
• Collaborate with scientists to collect, analyze, and present data to inform project decisions.
• Maintain the microbiology lab including daily operations, upkeep, and inventory management.
• Contribute to safe lab practices, adherence to operating principles, and knowledge-sharing efforts.
• Work within cross‑functional R&D teams to support technical initiatives and testing protocols.

• Proficiency in microbiological lab techniques including aseptic technique and dilution procedures.
• Strong data collection, analysis, and presentation skills.
• Ability to maintain accurate records and follow detailed protocols.
• Effective communication and collaboration across multidisciplinary teams.
• Strong organizational and problem‑solving abilities.

• 1‑3 years of laboratory experience, preferably in microbiology, biotechnology, or a related scientific field.
• Experience in test method development and validation is a plus.
• Familiarity with surface sanitization and disinfection testing preferred.

• Bachelor's degree in Microbiology, Biology, Biotechnology, or related scientific discipline.
• Excellent verbal and written English communication skills and the ability to interact professionally with a diverse group are required.

Salary and Benefits: The expected base salary for this position ranges from $25.70 to $27.54 per hour worked. Salary offers are based on a wide range of factors including relevant skills, training, experience, education, market factors, and where applicable, licensure or certifications obtained. In addition to salary, a competitive benefit package is also offered.
