The Position

This role is a vital part of our R&ED Molecular Lab team, which is dedicated to advancing cutting-edge diagnostic technologies and molecular biology solutions to improve patient outcomes.

The Opportunity

As a Senior Scientist, you will design, execute, and troubleshoot complex molecular biology experiments to propel our diagnostic product pipeline forward. In this role, you will apply deep scientific expertise to translate novel concepts into robust, high-performing assay solutions and facilitate seamless technology transfers across departments.

  • Design & Execute Research:
    Plan, execute, and optimize innovative R&D experiments utilizing established and novel procedures to achieve critical project goals.
  • Data Analysis & Documentation:
    Accurately record methods and results in electronic laboratory notebooks, analyze data, draw conclusions, and implement actionable process improvements.
  • Creative Problem-Solving:
    Identify, troubleshoot, and resolve complex scientific issues by taking new perspectives on existing solutions and implementing innovative concepts.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration:

    Serve as a scientific resource for Manufacturing, Quality, Regulatory Affairs, and Clinical Studies to ensure the expeditious transfer of products and technologies.
  • Technical Communication:
    Present findings at group and departmental meetings and leverage advanced technical writing skills to produce comprehensive reports, summaries, and memos.
  • Leadership & Guidance:
    Provide guidance and mentorship to junior team members, lead cross-functional project activities, and cultivate strong professional relationships.
Who You Are
  • You are a Bachelor’s in Biological/Life Sciences, Chemistry, Biochemistry, or a related field (or equivalent combination of education and experience);
    Master’s degree with 2+ years of experience preferred.
  • 5+ years of relevant industry experience applying broad knowledge in molecular biology or clinical studies, alongside a practical understanding of medical device and IVD assay development.
  • Demonstrated experience working safely in a BSL-2 laboratory environment while maintaining rigorous aseptic technique.

  • Experience with diagnostic assay development, including a high level understanding of the regulatory framework for RUO, LDT, or IVD assays.
  • Experience working with high-throughput molecular biology platforms and automated laboratory systems.
  • Demonstrated experience in assay development and optimization.
  • Demonstrated the ability to critically examine assay workflows and troubleshoot unknown and unfamiliar issues.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with a proven ability to identify areas of misalignment and collaborate effectively within and across teams.
  • Excellent organizational skills, including the ability to efficiently evaluate, prioritize and handle multiple changing projects and priorities; complete work in a timely, accurate and thorough manner.

The expected salary range for this position based on the primary location of (enter state) is $90,000 - $127,008 annually. Actual pay will be determined based on experience, qualifications, geographic location, and other job-related factors permitted by law. A discretionary annual bonus may be available based on individual and Company performance. This position also qualifies for the benefits detailed in this link.
