Scientist II

Aptask Global Workforce (AGW) is seeking a Scientist II - Molecular Biology for a contract position with a Global Biotechnology Company located in Pleasanton, CA. This is a 12+ month contract opportunity.

This role involves conducting and monitoring laboratory experiments using established procedures, with a focus on accuracy, quality, and timeliness of results. The successful candidate will work under general supervision, analyze experimental data, and contribute to process improvements within a regulated environment.

Responsibilities:

• Conduct and monitor laboratory experiments utilizing established and published procedures
• Assume responsibility for the accuracy, quality, and timeliness of experimental results
• Summarize experimental results and review conclusions with a supervisor/project leader
• Communicate results of experiments in the form of reports and presentations
• Perform work according to established internal safety guidelines and procedures (e.g., OSHA)
• Analyze experimental data using various data analysis software and/or applying quantitative methods
• Use technical writing skills to produce reports and documents
• Assume accountability for own electronic notebook documentation
• Participate in routine lab maintenance, lab safety, ISO, and QSR implementation
• Troubleshoot issues related to instrumentation

Requirements:

• Bachelor's Degree in Biological/Life Sciences, Chemistry, Biochemistry or a related field
• ddPCR (Digital Droplet PCR) experience is required
• Experience working with amino acids
• Must be comfortable discussing failures, lessons learned, and problem-solving approaches
• Ability to design and execute relevant laboratory experimentation

Desired skills:

• Master's Degree in Biological/Life Sciences, Chemistry, Biochemistry or related field with 5 years of relevant industry experience

Pay range: up to $44.74 per hour
