Research Specialist II
This study, the Five or Ten Year Colonoscopy for 1-2 Non-Advanced Adenomatous Polyps (FORTE), aims to determine the benefit, optimal timing and recommended frequency of surveillance colonoscopies after a colonoscopy detecting 1-2 non-advanced adenomas. This is a clinical trial funded by NCI. As the practice of colonoscopy expands to include the vast majority of adults and the detection of adenomas at colonoscopy increases, the inconvenience, medical risk, and resources associated with and devoted to surveillance colonoscopy will greatly increase.
Research to determine the benefit and yield of surveillance colonoscopy in patients with non-advanced adenomas is a high priority because of the high prevalence of adenomas. The results of this study will impact decisions regarding repeated performance of colonoscopy procedures, which affect large portions of the population over age 50.
We are seeking a Research Specialist II to support the following tasks:
- Conduct cohort ascertainment through the review of colonoscopy and pathology reports; determine study eligibility;
- Assemble and mail weekly (stool/blood) and annual mailings;
- Conduct reminder calls to participants to complete survey, stool kits, and other data collection; respond to participant inquiries via email and phone;
- Data enter questionnaires and other data collection points into study tracking data base and the clinical trials platforms, iMedidata (RAVE) and OPEN;
- Assist with initial enrollment, upload reports to reporting platforms, data enter required information;
- Follow all project recruitment protocols.
