Our capabilities span strategic workforce solutions, technology consulting, and professional services. About

the Role

We are seeking an experienced Business Development Manager to acquire new clients and sell technology consulting engagements. You will build relationships with enterprise and public-sector decision-makers, identify business and technical needs, and work with practice leaders and solution architects to shape and close statements of work. This is a consultative, new-business role focused on scoped technology services—not staffing requisitions alone. The ideal candidate can establish credibility with CIO, CISO, CDO, technology, procurement, and business leaders while managing longer, solution-oriented sales cycles.

Responsibilities
  • Identify, qualify, and win new commercial and public-sector technology consulting accounts.
  • Develop opportunities across AI and machine learning, generative AI, cloud, data and analytics, cybersecurity, systems integration, and application modernization.
  • Lead discovery conversations, clarify business outcomes, and involve practice leaders and solution architects at the appropriate stage.
  • Sell and close statement-of-work engagements, including fixed-fee, time-and-materials, and managed-capacity models.
  • Build pursuit plans and manage opportunities from initial outreach through proposal, negotiation, and contract execution.
  • Lead the commercial side of proposals and RFP responses in partnership with capture, proposal, and delivery teams.
  • Develop relationships with CIO, CISO, CDO, procurement, and other executive stakeholders.
  • Convert initial discovery or pilot engagements into larger follow-on programs and account growth.
  • Present Tryfacta’s technical capabilities, certifications, contract vehicles, and delivery record to prospective clients.
  • Maintain accurate pipeline, activity, and forecast reporting for business development leadership.
Qualifications
  • 6-10 years of experience selling IT consulting, professional services, or systems-integration engagements against a services quota.
  • Demonstrated success closing scoped statements of work, not solely staffing or resourcing engagements.
  • Sufficient technical fluency to lead an initial business conversation about cloud, data platforms, cybersecurity, or applied AI—and sound judgment about when to involve a technical specialist.
  • Experience developing new accounts through outbound prospecting, executive networking, and consultative selling.
  • Strong written, verbal, presentation, negotiation, and relationship-management skills.
  • Ability to work on-site in Pleasanton, California.
Preferred Skills
  • Commercial or Public-sector capture experience involving RFPs, IDIQ task orders, or state master service agreements.
  • An established network of commercial or government technology buyers.
  • Experience collaborating with solution architects, delivery leaders, and proposal teams.
Pay range and compensation package
  • Annual base salary plus uncapped commission and target bonus. Final base salary will depend on experience, qualifications, and demonstrated business-development results.
  • Medical, dental, and vision coverage;
Tryfacta pays 50% of the employee premium under plan terms and applicable requirements.
  • 10 vacation days, 12 company holidays, and California paid sick leave.
  • 401(k) with up to a 4% company match after one year of employment.
  • Support from marketing, capture, proposal, solution architecture, and delivery teams.
Equal Opportunity Statement

Tryfacta, Inc. is an equal opportunity employer. We consider qualified applicants without regard to race, color, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, national origin, age, disability, veteran status, or any other characteristic protected by law. Qualified applicants with arrest or conviction records will be considered in accordance with the California Fair Chance Act.
