The Sr. People Systems Analyst plays a pivotal role in the optimization and maintenance of Human Resources Information Systems, with a primary focus on Workday, to support both short- and long-range Human Resources goals. This role requires a dedicated Workday expert who can proactively manage and enhance system functionality, particularly within the Absence and Benefits modules.
- Act as a proactive Workday expert and technical Subject Matter Expert (SME) for Workday system-related projects, including module implementations, upgrades, and new functionality within Workday HCM, Absence, and Benefits.
- Manage and optimize Workday's Absence and Benefits modules, including configuration, testing, troubleshooting, and ongoing maintenance to ensure efficient and accurate processes.
- Own and troubleshoot all file data feeds for benefits carriers within Workday, and manage the build and maintenance of connectors for cross-system functionality and single sign-on related to Absence and Benefits integrations.
- Ensure data integrity and compliance within Workday, specifically for Absence and Benefits data, with a functional understanding of data compliance for other countries such as CAN, EMEA, and APAC.
- Design, create, and run advanced reports and provide analytics from Workday and other systems, delivering insights into Absence and Benefits trends and supporting strategic HR initiatives.
- Problem-solve and troubleshoot Workday system issues for the HR team, department leadership, and individual employees in a timely manner, focusing on Absence and Benefits module functionalities.
- Educate and train HR team members on Workday updates, new functionalities, and best practices, especially for Absence and Benefits processes, based on release and upgrade cycles.
- Liaise and partner with IT and other departments to ensure data integrity, including troubleshooting file feeds, data imports, and other program interfaces.
- Manage relationships with software vendors for HR systems and tools, contributing to the development of proper training and documentation for system use and maintenance.
- Execute HR System implementations, including platform design and build, testing, troubleshooting, and training, with a strong emphasis on Workday implementations.
- Perform projects as assigned by leadership, demonstrating time management while handling multiple projects simultaneously.
- Extensive knowledge and hands‑on experience with Workday HCM, including configuration, security, business processes, and reporting.
- Demonstrated experience with Workday Absence and Workday Benefits modules, including setup, maintenance, and optimization.
- Exceptional technical skills and deep knowledge of Workday report‑writing tools.
- Ability to extract and combine data from multiple databases, and analyze data to detect meaningful trends and patterns, particularly from Workday.
- 5+ years of related experience in HRIS or People Systems, with a Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, able to convey technical information to end users with limited technical knowledge.
- Excellent organizational skills with the ability to work independently, multitask, follow through, and meet deadlines in a customer‑focused environment.
- Strong problem‑solving and troubleshooting skills for system issues.
- Ability to work independently and take full ownership of responsibilities and goal achievement.
- Effective communication with employees at all levels of the organization.
- Workday certification (e.g., Workday HCM, Workday Absence, Workday Benefits) is highly desirable.
- Degree in Human Resource Management, Computer Information Systems, or a similar field.
- Other HR certifications (SPHR/PHR, SHRM‑SCP/CP) are desirable.
