We are seeking a hands-on NDT Supervisor to lead inspection operations within a fast-paced OCTG and tubular manufacturing environment. This role will oversee daily nondestructive testing activities, support production throughput, ensure API and customer quality compliance, and drive inspection reliability across pipe processing and manufacturing operations.
This position is ideal for a strong floor-oriented leader with experience in tubular manufacturing, pipe processing, ERW mills, OCTG, or heavy industrial steel operations who understands how to balance quality, production, and operational urgency.
Key Responsibilities
Supervise daily NDT and inspection activities across tubular manufacturing and pipe processing operations
Lead inspection personnel performing UT, MT, VT, and related inspection methods
Ensure compliance with API specifications, customer standards, and internal quality procedures
Support production flow while maintaining inspection integrity and quality performance
Review inspection data, rejection trends, and nonconformance reports to identify improvement opportunities
Assist with troubleshooting inspection systems, calibration verification, and equipment reliability
Support root cause investigations and corrective action initiatives
Train, mentor, and develop inspection technicians across shifts
Maintain inspection documentation and reporting accuracy
Participate in audits, quality initiatives, and continuous improvement efforts
Promote strong safety and operational discipline throughout inspection operations
Preferred Background
Experience with in OCTG, ERW pipe, steel tube manufacturing, pipe processing, coating, threading, or related industrial manufacturing environments
Strong working knowledge of UT inspection systems and NDT processes
Experience working within API-driven manufacturing environments (API 5CT preferred)
Prior supervisory or lead experience within inspection or quality operations
Strong understanding of tubular manufacturing processes and defect identification
Ability to work closely with production, operations, maintenance, and quality teams in a high-volume environment
Preferred Qualifications
ASNT Level II certification preferred
Experience supporting audits and customer quality requirements
Exposure to heat treat, pipe mills, coating operations, or tubular services environments is highly desirable
Lean manufacturing or continuous improvement experience is a plus
