Overview
A growing healthcare services organization is adding a newly created Staff Accountant position to support its finance team. This role will work closely with the Controller and play a key part in payroll administration, financial reporting, and core accounting operations.

Responsibilities- Oversee multi-state payroll processing for approximately 200 employees, ensuring accuracy and compliance
- Reconcile payroll data, review timekeeping records, and resolve discrepancies
- Prepare and record journal entries; maintain accuracy within the general ledger
- Perform monthly bank reconciliations and account reconciliations
- Assist with month-end and year-end close procedures
- Support accounts payable and accounts receivable workflows as needed
- Contribute to the preparation of financial statements, including balance sheets and income statements
- Respond to payroll-related inquiries in a timely and professional manner
- Assist with audit requests and documentation
- Identify opportunities to streamline accounting and payroll processes
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline
- At least 2 years of hands-on accounting experience, including payroll administration
- Experience with multi-state payroll and related tax compliance
- Solid understanding of financial statements, including P&L and balance sheet reporting
- Proficiency in Excel and familiarity with accounting and payroll systems
- Strong analytical skills and attention to detail
- Ability to manage confidential information with professionalism
- Excellent communication and organizational abilities
- Fully onsite role
- Reports directly to the Controller
