A dynamic and expanding healthcare organization is seeking an experienced Accountant who can bring both technical accounting expertise and payroll precision to a fast-paced, mission-driven environment.
This role is ideal for an accounting professional who enjoys owning processes, maintaining compliance, and contributing to operational efficiency. You’ll play a key part in ensuring accurate financial reporting while managing payroll with accuracy and discretion.
What You’ll Be Responsible ForGeneral Accounting & Close
- Prepare and post journal entries with proper supporting documentation
- Reconcile general ledger accounts and resolve variances
- Assist with month-end and year-end close activities
- Complete bank and balance sheet reconciliations to maintain clean financial records
Payroll Administration
- Manage end-to-end payroll processing on a biweekly or monthly cycle
- Review time records, calculate compensation and deductions, and resolve discrepancies proactively
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local payroll regulations
- Maintain accurate payroll records and respond promptly to employee inquiries
Financial Reporting & Operations Support
- Contribute to the preparation of financial statements and internal reports
- Provide support across accounts payable and accounts receivable functions when needed
- Help identify process enhancements that improve efficiency and strengthen internal controls
- Maintain strict confidentiality when handling payroll and financial data
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance
- 2+ years of accounting experience, including hands-on payroll processing
- Solid understanding of payroll tax requirements and compliance regulations
- Proficiency in Excel and experience with accounting/payroll platforms such as Quick Books, ADP, or similar systems
- Strong analytical skills with high attention to detail
- Ability to manage sensitive information with professionalism and discretion
- Clear communicator who can work effectively across departments
